5 ways you can prepare for fall

Fall is right around the corner!

Though we love summer, we’re ready to get back into our fall routines and cozy sweaters. Plus, pumpkin spice everything!

We’ve compiled a few tips to help you prepare for fall and make the most of the season:

5-ways-you-can-prepare-for-fall

1. Clean up your digital presence.

Similar to spring cleaning, now is a great time to clean up your digital presence. If you own a business, go through your website to ensure it’s optimized and on-theme for the fall. Plus, you can get a head-start on planning for any Black Friday or Small Business Saturday promotions!

Ditto for your social media. Your social media channels are a representation of your brand – and often the first time a prospective client will come across your business – so taking the time to clean up your online presence is essential.

If you’re not a business owner, you can still take the time to clean up your social media accounts and digital files. Unfollow any accounts that no longer resonate with or inspire you, and search for new brands to follow (especially local ones).

2. Get your home ready for winter.

This isn’t the most exciting tip, but it is practical if you own a house! Do all of the things you kept putting off during the busy summer, like washing windows, cleaning your furnace filters and clearing the eavestroughs. Plus, use the opportunity to check the batteries in your smoke alarm!

Whether you’re a homeowner or a renter, you can clean and organize your space so it will be neat and tidy as you enter winter hibernation mode.

3. Take care of your skin.

A change in seasons often wreaks havoc on our skin. Though a hot shower feels extra-delicious on a brisk fall day, it will also dry out your skin!

Take stock of your current skincare routine and adjust it for the fall by trying a new face mask or moving to a thicker moisturizer. Even though summer is over, sunscreen is also a must every day. Your skin will thank you!

4. Organize your closet.

Out with the tank tops, in with the cozy clothing! If you haven’t gone through your clothes in a while, set aside some time to declutter. Feeling overwhelmed? Create three simple piles: keep, donate and textile recycling, then start sorting! By the end of the process, you’ll have an organized closet, sweaters at the ready and peace of mind knowing where everything is.

5. Embrace the change in seasons.

Finally, enjoy the fall season when it arrives! Fall brings with it a lot of fun activities, like corn mazes and pumpkin patch visits. Embrace the simple things like walking through a pile of crunchy leaves or baking pumpkin and apple goodies for your loved ones. Make sure to take some time for yourself, too!

Preparing your business, home and personal life for the fall will ensure you enter the season on a good note.
